Operation: Feed the Need will be one of the most impactful service projects that KCA has ever done. We are committed to packing meals to serve 10,000 hungry people in Haiti and in our local community. In order to meet our commitment, we need to reach the $20,000 mark in our fund raising goal of $50,000 by two weeks prior to our packing event. This “gate” allows our ministry partner, The Champion Group, to schedule shipment of food to KCA for packing and to lock in the shipping to Haiti.
Normally the planning, logistics and packing event schedule for Operation: Feed the Need is a 12 week process. It was the original plan to condense our event into 8 weeks to finish by the end of the school year. However, this shortened time frame has not provided sufficient time for families to gather the support partners we need to keep our 10,000 meal commitment. After much discussion, your Event Team has moved the date of the Operation: Feed the Need packing event to 9 June 2018. With the shift in date, our classroom incentives competition deadline for meeting our $50,000 goal will be as of 4 pm on 10 May. Those families that reach the $500 mark in their fund raising by 7 May will receive their official “Hunger Buster” student tee shirt(s) for free.
Remember, all incentives are based upon meeting our overall school goal of $50,000 or above.
Thank you in advance for helping to make Operation: Feed the Need a success not only for the hungry in Haiti and in our community, but also in ensuring the continued success of KCA!
